On 1st June 2018, the Reception Year had their Drama Performance entitled “The Gruffalo.” This play was based on the story by Julia Donaldson. The story has strong rhythm and rhyme.
This play is about 2 mice walking through the woods and they encounter several dangerous animals (the foxes, an owl and the snakes). The mouse tells each of them that he is on his way to a feast with a Gruffalo. Each time they meet these animals, they make up a story of a big scary gruffalo! The 2 cunning mice used clever tricks to evade danger from the animals. The mice’s description of the fierce Gruffalo who would want to eat them scares the fox, the owl, and the snake away.
The children worked hard throughout the whole month and had a wonderful time practicing for the show. They put up a marvelous and wonderful performance. They looked radiant and confident on stage. – By Ms Raja Sheena, Reception Teacher
