Dear Students, Teachers and Parents,
Happy 2017! Time has flown so fast that it seems quite surreal.
It has been 20 years since Mutiara International Grammar School was established in 1997. Looking back, I am proud to say that the school kept its pledge to deliver quality education that focuses on high levels of standards and holistic approaches to teaching.
We have been cultivating in our students the seeds of intellectual and ethical growth. Over the years we have watched them flourish under the wings of our dedicated educators, before taking flight to tread their own path in the world.
The School is where it is today, successful, time-honoured and reliable, because of the triumphs of our students while under our tutelage and as they continue with their achievements beyond our gates.
Among the many milestones of the School is the unveiling of our new school building in August 2016. Comprising 27 new classrooms equipped with multimedia learning tools, it was a much-anticipated expansion which saw students enthusiastically embracing their new surroundings. In addition to this was the refurbishment of our dining hall, library and Reception classrooms as well as a general facelift to the School environment.
While it is a refreshing change to the physical aspects of the School, I am pleased to note that we have not changed in terms of the quality education we provide. We are committed to hone our young minds that are as capable and talented as they come. We recognise their potential to change the landscape of our future, and our teachers are continuously driven to ensure they receive the opportunities they deserve.
One such noteworthy event is our continued success in the IGCSE examinations. Our long-standing achievement in IGCSE was made sweeter last year when two of our students, Suh Hyo Lim and Alya Nabilah Tasya, were accorded high recognition at a special awards ceremony organised by Cambridge International. Hyo Lim came out Top in the World for her outstanding performance in Information & Communication Technology, and Alya was Top in Malaysia for her fantastic result in Additional Mathematics.
As I reflect on the many events and happenings at Mutiara International Grammar School, I am enormously proud to be a part of the School’s history since its beginning until present time, watching it grow and make its mark in the international schools arena. I am certain that the School will continue to move in new and exciting directions as we chart further history together.
I wish you a great 2017 filled with enduring memories and joy.
Happy 20th anniversary!
