Application Procedures
Mutiara International Grammar School accepts applications all year round for students from the age of 4 to 15.
We offer a vibrant and rigorous curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England to challenge our students and develop them to become all-rounded individuals.

Step 1: Contact the Admissions Office
Call or write in for more information, and to make an appointment with our Admissions personnel to visit and tour the school grounds and facilities. Please contact:

- Monday to Friday, from 08:00 am – 04:00 pm.
- Saturday via appointment only.
Step 3: Submit an Application
Put in an application by completing the Application Form given during your visit. Additional copies of the Form can be downloaded below. Please include one complete application form and set of documents for each child as follows:
For Malaysian Parents:
- Copy of your child’s MyKad
- Copy of your child’s latest report from the previous school
- Three copies of your child’s photograph (passport size)
- Copy of parents MyKad
For Non-Malaysian Parents:
- Copy of your child’s passport
- Copy of your child’s latest report from the previous school
- Three copies of your child’s photograph (passport size)
- Copy of parents passport
Please note:
- A non-refundable application fee of RM 1,300.00 is applicable for each child’s application to MIGS.
- To ensure that MIGS can provide quality education to all our students, we have a limited number of spaces in each class and year group. Please ensure that there are available spaces for your child before submitting an application.
Step 4: Take the Entrance Test
An Entrance test will be carried out in the school to assess your child’s learning skills, abilities, and language proficiency which is age appropriate for their prospective year group. The test will also determine any additional needs for coaching and instruction upon admission as follows:
- Reception: Two-days of in-class observation
- Junior School for Year 1 or 2: – A written test
- Junior School for Year 3 to 6: – Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) 4 and New Group Reading Test (NGRT)
- Senior School for Year 7 to 11: Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT) 4 and New Group Reading Test (NGRT)
Step 5: Obtain our Feedback
Based on the results of the Entrance Test, parents and potential student will be called for an interview with the respective Head of School. The objective of the interview is to provide an overview of the school’s expectations. Parents and prospective students will be asked appropriate questions in order to complete the profile of the student and assess their suitability for enrollment into the School.
In turn, parents and potential students will have an opportunity to ask for more information about the school.
Interviews with the Head of school are indicative of the following possibilities: –
- Recommendation for the offer of a confirmed place.
- Recommendation for the offer of a conditional place.
In rare cases, a place may not be offered. This may be reconsidered at the School’s sole discretion.
