Academic
Assessments
Key Stage 3
Examinations
Students will sit for internal examinations in all subjects towards the end of the third term in each year. This will take the form of an examination week. Parents and pupils will be given advance notice of the dates. In addition to these formal examinations, students should expect to have regular in-class assessments throughout the academic year.
Self-Assessment
Throughout Key Stage 3 students will regularly complete self-assessments and evaluations. We feel that it is important to give students responsibility for their own learning and we aim to make all our students independent learners. In doing so they will be able to emphasize strengths, determine weaknesses, and highlight areas for improvement.
Key Stage 4
Examinations
Key Stage 4 culminates in IGCSE examinations conducted by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). The grades awarded at IGCSE level range from A* (the highest) to G (the lowest).
