On the morning of 20th June, the Auditorium at Mutiara International Grammar School (MIGS) pulsed with excitement as students, teachers, and families gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the school year: the MIGS Got Talent Finals.
Kicking off at 10:00 AM, the event was a celebration of excellence, creativity, and individuality, woven into the fabric of MIGS’ broader year-end festivities for 2025. Students in the audience seats scurried with wide eyes and eager chatter. Teachers exchanged knowing smiles, and parents leaned forward with cameras handy from their seats, excited to support and capture these precious memories of their young ones. And at the heart of it all? Students who perform with gusto and passion.
As part of our broader year-end graduation festivities, MIGS Got Talent wasn’t just a show. It was a showcase of who our students are, not just in talent, but the outpouring of their personality, passion and perseverance.
We believe that education goes beyond textbooks and exams. As a leading IGCSE school in Selangor, we are proud to offer a platform where our students let their personalities shine just as brightly as their academic achievements.
And trust us. The stage that day was LIT. 🔥
Why MIGS Got Talent Exists
MIGS Got Talent was born from a vision to celebrate the diverse abilities of our students, whether they excel in music, dance, drama or the magical arts. As a forward-thinking IGCSE school in Malaysia, we prioritise holistic development. This initiative allows MIGS students of all stages to develop self-confidence and stage presence, and to express themselves freely beyond the classroom setting. This is our way of saying, “Hey, your voice matters. Your art matters. You matter! No roles too big, no stage too small for our young ones ”
Whether they were belting out show tunes, pirouetting across the stage, summoning magic, or performing stirring monologues, 52 eager students stepped into the spotlight. Each auditioned earlier in the term, passing a screening process that favoured not just raw skill, but preparation, passion, and potential.
This school-wide event perfectly exemplifies our mission as a Malaysian IGCSE education provider to cultivate not just academic excellence, but also a rich, confident and creative student community.
Show Highlights: A Day to Remember
Curtains drew back, and it’s SHOW TIME! And what a show it was. The Finals brought an electric mix of performances. From singing, dancing, poetry, instrumental music, monologues, to even magic! The talent pool spanned various age groups, from our bright-eyed juniors to our confident teens, each bringing something unique to the stage.
As a proud IGCSE school in Malaysia, MIGS pulled out all the stops with a star-studded judging panel, and they are nothing short of impressive:

Mr. Edmund Zachariah, veteran performer and keyboardist for The Alleycats
Mr. Teoh See Seen, celebrated guitarist and vocalist for bands like 9 Lives and Lost Souls
Mr. Amizan Arifin, with over 23 years of experience in the music industry
Mr. Jia Dong, a decorated vocal performer with multiple gold medals in international competitions
🏆 And the Winners Are…

More Than Just Talent: MIGS Values in Action
While the stage shone with polished performances, the heart of MIGS Got Talent lies in its values in action: self-expression, courage, resilience and teamwork. These are buzzwords realised from the lived experiences that our students embraced throughout their preparation and performance.
Every act was a story of growth. A student who once whispered in class now belted out a solo. A shy Year 3 ballerina leapt across the stage with ballerina grace. A group that fumbled in rehearsal found perfect harmony when it counted. Our students are the perfect representation of growth and resilience, making their teachers and parents proud.
Whether it was a soloist mustering the courage to sing to a full house or a group nailing their choreography after countless rehearsals, every moment celebrated the growth, effort, and creative risk-taking that MIGS encourages in all its learners.
That’s the spirit of MIGS – a multi-tiered international primary school in Malaysia. MIGS is where confidence knows no bounds and bashfulness has no place. Even our tiniest performers stood shoulder-to-shoulder with their seniors in pursuit of the coveted prize – proving that talent has no timeline.

We understand that, more than parents, children often struggle adjusting to new environments. New students often face social and emotional challenges in different institutions, especially when adjusting to life in a new country or school system.
MIGS provides comprehensive support through our care team and dedicated counsellors, who ensure that each child’s well-being is nurtured alongside their academic development. We believe in proactive care that keeps students thriving in both mind and heart.
What This Means for MIGS Students
MIGS Got Talent is more than a single event—it’s part of our ongoing commitment to a holistic educational journey. At MIGS, we embrace every side of our learners — not just their test scores but their dreams, fears, quirks, and gifts, forming the foundation of our identity as a global curriculum primary school in Malaysia.
For our students, opportunities like these help them realise that learning isn’t limited to the classroom. It happens everywhere in class, at home, on the field, the stage and backstage and in the moments between notes. But what matters the most is the courage to step on stage, the resilience to keep practising, and the thrill of sharing their passion with an audience. These moments shape young minds just as deeply as any lesson or exam.
To the parents, teachers, and wider school community, thank you for being part of this journey. Your support fuels the confidence of every student who dares to dream big, express freely, and work hard.
Thank You, MIGS Family
